Alexa Gilmour is working to strengthen Ontario by championing equity, expanding access to housing and health care, and fighting for women, families, and marginalized communities.
As Shadow Minister for Women’s Social and Economic Opportunity and Shadow Minister for Citizenship and Multiculturalism, Alexa brings both lived experience and deep compassion to Queen’s Park. A United Church minister, community organizer, and founder of the Stone Soup Network, she has spent decades helping people navigate rising costs, housing instability, and systemic discrimination.
Alexa has led initiatives that connect neighbours to resources, expand refugee protections, and fight racism, xenophobia, homophobia, and transphobia. Her grassroots work has delivered real results — from new shelter spaces to inclusive community programming.
As a mother of five, including adopted and neurodivergent children, Alexa brings a fierce understanding of the barriers families face and a bold commitment to building an Ontario where everyone is safe, valued, and supported.
